This website features the work carried out by the former Abu Dhabi Islands Archaeological Survey (ADIAS) between 1992 and 2006. The website is maintained by Dr Mark Jonathan Beech, former Senior Resident Archaeologist for the Abu Dhabi Islands Archaeological Survey from 1994-2006. The old ADIAS website (www.adias-uae.com) ceased to exist after the sad demise of the late Peter Hellyer, Executive Director of ADIAS, in July 2023, and then the late Dr Geoffrey King, Academic Director of ADIAS, in March 2025. This website has been re-established as a tribute to them but also as a means of archiving the past work of the Abu Dhabi Islands Archaeological Survey. It also provides a platform highlighting subsequent and recent archaeological research and fieldwork specifically relating to sites first discovered and worked on by the ADIAS team.
